Who should attend

All persons required to work in confined spaces as part of their employment duties.

Course aims

The course aims to teach learners how to determine and work within a confined space where the chance of hazardous atmospheres is high and full working breathing apparatus needs to be worn at all times.

Course Objectives:

Upon completion of the course the learners will cover the following content:

  • Current legislation
  • Hazard identification
  • Equipment selection
  • Permits to work
  • Safe working procedures
  • Hygiene
  • Gas detection
  • Use of oxygen escape sets and full breathing apparatus
  • Accident and emergency procedures

Certification: Upon completion of the course the learners will be required to complete a practical assignment, which upon successful completion learners will receive a certificate and photo ID card.

NB: All learners wishing to undertake the course must have Emergency First Aid (1 day) by an accredited provider. Learners must supply their own Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for this course.
