NHSS 12AB Impact Protection Vehicle Assessments
Requirements for IPV Assessments (Non-Live Lanes & Live Lanes):
One successful assessment is required on each lane type covering all the pre-determined performance criteria as detailed in the relevant Lantra ePortfolio.
- Non live lane requires the IPV to protect a works vehicle on the hard shoulder, crossing an exit and entry slip road maintaining 2 way radio comms
- Live lane requires the IPV to protect a works vehicle for the installation of advance warning signs and an offside taper/lane closure, maintaining 2 way radio comms (as above, this is to be completed once the non live lane / hard shoulder assessment has been completed).
Non-Live Lane Assessment & Live Lane Assessment can be competed as a single event if the works installation meets the required criteria above, or as two separate events however the non-live lane assessment must be completed before the live-lane assessment.
All sites and vehicles MUST be supplied by the client. We are unable to assist with sourcing appropriate sites for completion of the assessments.
Certification: Completion of the award will consist of a successful on-site assessment and demonstrating the required competence against a prescribed set of peformance criteria. Successful learners will receive endorsement on their NHSS Skills card once application to Lantra has been made.
