Who should attend

Anyone who has completed the NHSS 12ab EMCC Operator Awareness training course and is looking to obtain full operator status (assessments must be completed within a two-year period starting from the date of the awareness training course)

Pre-requisites

All learners wishing to complete the NHSS12ab EMCC Operator Assessment must:

  • Hold a valid NHSS 12ab EMCC Awareness training certificate.
  • Hold an in date and valid NHSS 12A/B Operative Skilled Worker category.

Course aims

Demonstrate the techniques and procedures required to safely operate an EMCC vehicle for the installation and removal of  traffic management schemes on motorways and high speed dual carriageway roads, concluding in attaining full EMCC Operator status.

Learners are required to complete a minimum of 1 ‘live’ assessment consisting of 3 untis. Once the assessment process has started the learner has 2 years to complete the assessments.

Course Objectives:

Minimum of 3 x successful assessments units required as a minimum covering all the pre-determined performance criteria as detailed in the relevant Lantra Awards ePortfolio. All assessments MUST be completed in a ‘live’ site environment in accordance with the requirements of the relevant sector scheme document.

Certification: On completion, all learners will be issued with a skills registration card by Lantra Awards which will be valid for 5 years.

NB: Refresher training is required within 6 months of the expiry date to ensure the qualification remains valid.
