Who should attend

All persons who are required to use any form of pesticide in their daily work activities.

Pre-requisites

To be eligible to participate, learners must have undertaken the following courses: – • PA1 Safe Use of Pesticide

Course aims

The course prepares the learner to take the NPTC PA6a practical assessment, which combined with a PA1 unit qualifies the operator in the legislative qualification Certificate of Competence in the Safe Use of Pesticides.

Course Objectives:

Upon completion of the course the learners will cover the following content:

  • Legislation
  • Environmental safety
  • Label information
  • Nozzles and spray quality
  • Types of nozzles
  • Preparation of knapsack for use
  • Calibration
  • Site work
  • Cleaning and decontamination of the applicator
  • Other application methods

Certification: Upon successful completion combined with a PA1 unit qualifies the operator in the legislative qualification Certificate of Competence in the Safe Use of Pesticides.

NB: Learners must supply their own Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for this course.
