Congratulations to Up To Speed Training sponsored Rugby Borough Juniors FC U13 Jaguars who are Mid-Warwickshire League Division 2 Runners Up for the 2024-2025 season.
Promotion to Division 1 has been secured after a lot of hard work and commitment from the whole team and coaching staff.
After the transition from U12 9 a-side football to U13 11 a-side football with no pre-season to prepare due to circumstances beyond the teams control the season started slowly and after an initial win in the first game 2 draws and 2 losses followed, however undeterred the coaches and the whole team focussed on improving and the wins started to happen and kept happening with 8 league wins in a row leaving them 2nd in the league with one game to go against the league leaders in what was a winner takes all and would be crowned league winners.
Home advantage wasn’t enough to get them over the line as League winners, although they were the better team throughout the game it was apparent it was going to be one of those days when they repeatedly missed the target, hitting the cross bar, hitting the post and shooting inches wide multiple times, unfortunately the few chances that fell to the opposition they took and ended up securing a 3-2 victory.
Despite coming so close to winning the league there is no reason to be disappointed as all things considered the achievements of the team has been nothing short of spectacular and each and every player should be immensley proud of themselves.
