Lantra have recently informed all those working within the governance of National Highway
Sector Scheme 12, that the NHSS 12ABCD Committee and Lantra will be making
changes to the 6 month grace period ‘rule’, which will take effect from 01 April 2026.
Key Points:
- The 6 month grace period prior to skills expiring will remain the same
- The existing 6 month grace period applied after skills have expired is to be
removed from 01 April 2026
Notes:
This will not change current practice as detailed below:
- When a skill expires the skill will no longer show on the e-Card and the card
holder cannot work on site for the specific skill which has expired - Only the skills showing on the e-Card are valid
Further updates will be communicated to advise how this will affect individuals
should they not renew their skills in time.
