Who should attend

Nominated emergency first aiders, learners who require an emergency first aid at work (EFAW) certificate to comply with Health & Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 requirements or anyone wanting comprehensive one day first aid training. Learners must be physically able to carry out the procedures detailed in the course aims.

Course aims

The course aims to provide provide basic life-saving first aid and fulfill workplace health & safety regulations.

Course Objectives:

Upon completion the learners will have an understanding of:

  • First Aid Priorities
  • Managing incidents
  • Basic Life support
  • Examination of a casualty
  • Unconsciousness
  • Control of Bleeding
  • Burns & Scalds
  • Regulations
  • First Aid KIts
  • Recording & Reporting

Certification: Learners is dependant on successful completion of the end of course exam. Those learners who complete the course are deemed to have reached the required standard and are issued with a certificate that is valid for 3 years, after which re-qualification becomes necessary.

NB:¬†Under the current guidelines it is “strongly recommended” that first aid trained staff attend a 1/2 day update every 12 months – before completing full re-qualification training at the 3 year point.
