Who should attend

Nominated emergency first aiders, learners who require an emergency first aid at work (EFAW) certificate to comply with Health & Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 requirements or anyone wanting comprehensive one day first aid training. Pre-requisites

Learners must be physically able to carry out the procedures detailed in the course aims.

Course aims

The course aims to provide provide basic life-saving first aid and fulfill workplace health & safety regulations.

Course Objectives:

Upon completion the learners will have an understanding of:

  • Managing incidents
  • Basic Life support
  • Examination of a casualty
  • Unconsciousness
  • Control of Bleeding
  • Burns & Scalds
  • Regulations
  • First Aid KIts
  • Recording & Reporting

Certification: Learners is dependant on successful completion of the end of course exam. Those learners who complete the course are deemed to have reached the required standard and are issued with a certificate that is valid for 3 years, after which re-qualification becomes necessary.

NB: Under the current guidelines it is “strongly recommended” that first aid trained staff attend a 1/2 day update every 12 months – before completing full re-qualification training at the 3 year point.
